Archdruid's Charm for Murders at Karlov Manor
AD: Deborah Garcia
This one was so much fun - they let me loose on the design, so naturally I immediately sprouted a bunch of symbolism.
At the base, there are the teeth of a predator that are connected to a pair of antlers through decorative roots. The dark green gems on the side are intended to be cat's eyes.
Moving upwards, the antlers cross in a way that creates a shape similar to a double helix. In each 'loop', there is a nest that holds a green amber egg. We can see a sprouting seed encased in the biggest egg.
There are three eggs in total, each one a little smaller. The nests took forever and a half to draw. At the top, the antlers have turned into branches with a million billion little leaves. The shape of the foliage is similar to the green mana symbol.
And here you can get a better look of the little leaves and the green gems between the branches. These also took a while to draw but I enjoyed every shiny minute.
One of my favorite sketches that didn't get picked - a wolf's skull with wings over its eyes that then still peek through, and there's a mistletoe crown up top, and a combined symbol of sun and moon in the middle of that.
Another sketch - a moth who's legs become branches that have a lot of small birds sitting on them. There's a nest with an acorn above it.
Another sketch - a combo of a sickle (because druids), an antler, and oak. There's also a small spider friend. <3
